Arnie's joke to 'girlie men' a bit of a balls-up

California State Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has sent a lawmakers a sculpture of bulls’ testicles in a message intended to encourage them to show some courage.

But Senate President Darrell Steinberg didn’t get the joke.

Clearly, it was a better gag than Steinberg's attempt to raise a laugh by sending Arnie a bag of mushrooms, after the Governator said the Democrats' budget proposals were “hallucinatory”.

Steinberg, miffed by being outdone, returned the football-sized testicles with a note lecturing Arnie to take negotiaions more seriously.

Maybe Schwarzenegger was right when he called the Democrats “girlie men” after all.
