A Chinese couple were so desperate to help their mentally ill daughter that they resorting to an ancient remedy which unfortunately called for the death of someone else.
So they could boil his head.
Man's-Head Soup is the age-old cure for insanity in Sichuan province, and unfortunately for a passing 76-year-old drunk, it sounded exactly like the cure Lin Zongxiu was searching for in order to help her 25-year-old daughter.
Just what her daughter's mentall illness was exactly hasn't been revealed, but whatever it was, you can bet she caught it from her mother.
Mrs Lin and her husband hired a hitman to gather the ingredients - ingredient - and into the pot went the old boozer's head.
They didn't get away with it, but that's small consolation for the ingredient.
The hitman was sent to jail for life and Mrs Lin was done for, of all things, "concealing the evidence".
