It is usually used to subdue violent criminals, but a runaway ram was given a shock when police turned a 50,000-volt stun gun on it for the crime of blocking a road in North Wales, according to an article in the National Enquirer.
Officers said the stun gun was used because the ram, since named "Sparky" by locals, was "causing major disruption and possible danger to motorists".
One of the officers then took out his stun gun, fired it at the sheep and dragged the stunned animal to the side of the carriageway, Mr Foulkes said.
A spokesman for the RSPCA said they would investigate the incident and ask why it was necessary for police to use the 50,000-volt stun gun on the animal.
