POLICE have found the severed arm of the guy that wrote Thundercats.
Comic artist Stephen Perry, 56, was one of three people reported missing from Zephyrhills, Florida.
His arm and bloddied van had been abandoned in the parking lot of the Quality Inn motel in Zephyrhills.
Zephryhills Mayor W. Cliff McDuffie confirmed there was a bloody scene inside the van, and that investigators had found a man's severed arm, myFOXtampabay.com reports.
They later confirmed the other two reported missing were Perry's roomates and were now in custody.
Thundercats gained popularity after debuting on televison in 1985.
Perry's death comes just as the series was making something of a revival.
It was picked up again by Warner Bros in 2007 for a CGI movie release due out sometime this year.
Four series of 20 episodes each, following the adventures of seven cat-humanoid aliens whose spaceship landed on Third Earth.
Led by Lion-O, the Thundercats are forver battling the mutant minions of Munn-Ra, who are desperate to relieve Lion-O of his mystical sword, which holds the Eye of Thundera.
It . erm, gets bigger when Lion-O says "Thundercats - ThunderCats - ThunderCats HO!"
It was so good, IGN named Thundercats as the 49th best show in the Top 100 Best Animated TV Shows.
It also had cameo roles in South Park and Robot Chicken.
Not surprisingly, a cameo role in Family Guy followed several months later.
