World Dominoes Record

A new world record for the number of dominoes toppled in one go was set in the Netherlands on Friday night, when according to event organisers, 4,345,027 dominoes fell during a two-hour TV show.

More than 85 people from 13 countries took part in the challenge, which took eight weeks to set up and was a year in the planning.

One of the features, which included a small bird flapping its wings, was in memory of a sparrow, which was shot and killed in 2005 moments after it flew into the exhibition hall and knocked over 23,000 dominoes - almost sabotaging that year's record attempt.
